Canon CL-541 ink cartridges come in two varieties; the standard capacity and the ‘XL’ high capacity, but what’s the difference?
Despite the name, both the Canon CL-541 and the CL-541XL have exactly the same external dimensions. The key difference between the two is the amount of ink which is contained within, and therefore, the number of pages which can be printed before changing the cartridge.
The standard capacity Canon CL-541 cartridge contains 8ml of ink, giving an approximate yield of 180 pages.
The high capacity Canon CL-541XL cartridge contains 15ml of ink, which give a page yield of approximately 400 pages.
Will Canon CL-541XL cartridges fit my printer?
This is a common question, as the name of the cartridge implies that it will be physically bigger than a standard ink cartridge.
In fact, a CL-541XL cartridge will fit any printer that takes the standard capacity cartridges. So, if you usually use Canon CL-541 ink cartridges, then you can also use the CL-541XL variety with out issue.
The same is also true of the black PG-54o standard and high capacity XL cartridges.
