What is the diference between 511 and 513 Canon Ink?

Canon CL-511 ink cartridges CL-513 ink cartridges both contain tri-colour ink and fit the same printers, but what’s the difference?

Despite the difference in name, both the Canon CL-511 and the CL-513 have exactly the same external dimensions. The key difference between the two is the amount of ink which is contained within, and therefore, the number of pages which can be printed before changing the cartridge.

The standard capacity Canon CL-511 cartridge contains 9ml of ink, giving an approximate yield of 224 pages.

The high capacity Canon CL-513 cartridge contains 13ml of ink, which give a page yield of approximately 349 pages.

Will Canon CL-513 cartridges fit my printer?

This is a common question, as the name of the cartridge is different than a standard ink cartridge.

In fact, a CL513 cartridge will fit any printer that takes the standard capacity CL-511 cartridges. So, if you usually use Canon CL-511 ink cartridges, then you can also use the CL-513 variety with out issue. The same is also true of the high capacity black PG-512 ink cartridge.
